I read pretty much anything, from fantasy (City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett) to romance (Bared to You by Sylvia Day) to classics (Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad).  The only genres I don't read are self-help and comic books/graphic novels.

Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare

Extreme Exposure - Pamela Clare

30/12 - This was a great, fun, fast-paced mystery romance.  It was at least a star better than I expected it to be.  I thought the romance side of the story might be a bit tired and/or short lived and that the mystery/crime might be a bit tame.  I was pleasantly surprised to find this was good enough for me to want to read it again sometime in the future.  In fact, I might consider buying the series, you always need  a good light read at hand.  In the 'light read between literature books' category this rates right up there with one of my favourite romance series by Karen Marie Moning; the Highlander series.

I liked that the 'crime' being focused on in this book was environmental, it reminded me of the movie Erin Brockovich which featured a big company poisoning a town's groundwater supply through illegal dumping of chemicals.  I wish there were more politicians like Sheridan (a teacher who went into politics to prove to his students that you can make a difference without resorting to underhanded deals and blackmail) and that they could actually make more of a difference in their careers, instead of constantly fighting the much more numerous corrupt or ambivalent politicians, only to end up two steps behind where they started anyway.  I'm really looking forward to reading the other books in the I-Team series.  I imagine they won't differ all that much from this one, but as long as you aren't expecting literature you won't be disappointed in the fun that I'm sure they'll be.
