I read pretty much anything, from fantasy (City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett) to romance (Bared to You by Sylvia Day) to classics (Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad).  The only genres I don't read are self-help and comic books/graphic novels.

Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian

Kiss of Midnight - Lara Adrian

Been waiting for this book for months and was thankfully the first to place a hold and borrow it. I read it in half a day and most of a night (thankfully I didn't have to get up early for work the next morning). Really enjoyed the story, the set up of the family of vampires. I liked the interplay between the main characters. I hope YPRL buys more of the series, I already have the next book in my "For Later" list.

*UPDATE*
Ugh, that's a useful review!!  I seem to have really enjoyed it, but I can't remember a single thing about the story, even after reading the description above.  In fact, the start of the description made me think of Cassandra Clare's City of Bones, the scene where Clary first meets Jace and the rest of the Shadowhunters mid kill in a club toilet.  Currently reading the second book, Kiss of Crimson, and realising I definitely need to re-read this one before I get any further into the series.

*UPDATE DUE TO RE-READ*

21/4 - Now that I've re-read this I'm not sure if I would still give it 4 stars.  The story seemed a bit weaker second time around, but I'm feeling generous so I'll leave it the way it is.  I got quite frustrated with the way Lucan was so resistant to explaining to Gabrielle that he needed to drink her blood specifically.  I mean it was either explain it to her and have her volunteer her blood or go completely crazy and take it by force.  I don't think I would fare as a vampire very well - I love cooking and then eating what I've cooked and I would really miss the experience of enjoying something I've created from scratch.
